Take me to my private island!

The private kitchen island is good enough....

Bake me a cake any day on that! But the caesar benchtop top isnt installed yet.

Quick look at the tiles

White porcelain tiles for bathroom and en-suite.

The feature for the ensuite bathroom are 3 rows of the horizontal design below. I tried to keep it simple with the idea that it wouldnt date too fast.

The feature design for the main/shared bathroom along side the white tiles.

Laundry floor and wall. Pretty ordinary. Chris didnt even want to know about the laundry tiles cause he figured he wouldnt be spending that much time in there so get me to choose the colours in that room.

And I didnt add the bathroom floor tiles because the camera didnt do them any justice - they are dark olive/grey in colour and will be a great contrast. Pictures of them to come in my high res camera - at the moment we are just using the iphone camera.

They are still building....

Yes, they are still building and no where do we have an  approximate end date.

Since the last post we have a new SS. That makes him the lucky third one!

We also got the air conditioning and heater system connected (Chris doesnt think its fully functioning yet)..

Also got the air vents on the roof done.

Tiles, Tiles, Tiles

We got our tiles delivered on Tuesday -

Im so excited that I cant hide it...(Im about to lose control and I think I like it...)

They've got sample tites all nicely wrapped in bubble wrap. All the sample tiles are labelled for their destination. Felt like unwrapping the package then and there to remind me what we chose again.
But I refrained.

Time flies by so fast. I didnt think I'd ever refer back to the tender documents and pictures of all the display house I took (like over 1,000 pics). Im glad we took those photos and kept so many soft copies of the tender doc. It acts as a good reference point and reconfirms your decision once again.

I cant wait to see all the tiles laid out and all come together...

La Dolce Vita!

Happy Valentines day everyone! Hope you got spoilt rotten :)

I got $4.99 Lindt chocolate that my boyfriend and I purchased together - it was nice; I havent eaten it yet.

It was also my Dad's bday today, so we had a big feast and family do at home. He kept on bringing out freshly baked salami pizza's and filipino style food. The king boss had steak and veg..lol.

So to the house; today we got our bath and *drum roll...............*

Our ensuite spa. :)

This is by the Dolce Vita Line. Somehow we dont know or cant remember if this is the same spa we chose during our colour appointment earlier in the tender process. Regardless, it is massive, gi-normous and all I can think about is how many of my nieces and nephew I can fit in there so we can have a spa party- yay!!!!

We also got the basins

The rest of the house is looking pretty average. No paint on the house yet.

the fixing starts

So the plasterer has come back today to fix the silly plumber's unnecessary broken bits to our home.

In the previous post, you'll see that he forgot to turn off the taps which eventually caused a water leak in the bathroom making the walls too damaged they had to all be repaired (picture A).

He also went in the roof and somehow managed to crack a hole through it. (picture B).

Pic B

So now here's the first stage of the fix.

Below is the bathroom. A new plastered ceiling.

And below is the garage. The garage roof was left exposed to the elements during Christmas period.

There were a couple of tiles that weren't put in and the water and hail storm got it which made the roof wet, then worp.

But they haven't really "fixed" it. They just stapled it up, instead of replacing it completely.........

We got Telstra today

soil that smells like poo!

Earth diggers arrived today with a mini bob cat to place all of our drainage pipes.

Who knew this stage even existed -  and now the soil thats been dug up smells foul and like poop. They must've dug really deep because (of the awful stench)  there was this huge pile of cement, the size of a large sink was pulled up from the ground......

Oh and the facade got a second coat  of render.

The gutters are now connected to the drain pipes. And the shit ones were removed.
